He was the son of the late Embree B. and Mary Bell White. Formerly of Pulaski, he was a member of the Blacksburg Presbyterian Church. He was retired from his privately owned insurance and real estate firm in Blacksburg. Surviving are his wife, Mary Marye White, two sons, Robert Marye White, Roanoke, Frank Bell White, Blacksburg, one granddaughter, one sister, Carolyn P. Her hat was of pink linen with accessories of white. She carried a white miniature Bible, an heirloom of the bridegroom's family, which was topped with an orchid showered with stephanotis. James Bell White, of Abingdon, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Mr. White is a graduate of VPI in industrial engineering and is now employed with DuPont in Camden, S. C. Immediately following the ceremony, attended only by the immediate families, the couple left for a brief wedding trip. |

GRAHAM - Mr. Rollin Pearsall White, 85, of Edgewood Place, Burlington, and formerly of Graham, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 18, 2010 at 9 a.m. at Alamance Regional Medical Center. A native of Pulaski, Virginia, he was the husband of the late Mary Eva Jones White and the son of Embee Bennett White Sr. and Mary Bell White, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during World War II in the European Theatre. He was a graduate of Virginia Tech and retired as a Senior Industrial Engineer with Western Electric. Mr. White was a member of Bible Baptist Church and the Men's Sunday School Class. He was a former member of Piedmont Baptist Church where he was a church deacon. Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Kerr and husband William of Graham and Cindy White and husband Alan of Elon; a son, Rollin P. White III of Mebane; three grandchildren, William Adam Kerr, Christy Lynn Kerr and Jennifer Mariah White; and one sister, Carolyn Pearsall White of Blacksburg, Va. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Kent White Reed; and two brothers, James Bell White and Embee Bennett White Jr. The funeral service will be conducted at Bible Baptist Church on Thursday, January 21, 2010, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Dr. J. Mark Aheron and the Rev. Tommy Love. Entombment will be at the Mausoleum at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence of a daughter, Carolyn Kerr, 2112 South Main Street, Graham.
