Woodlawn av., Aldan, died Tuesday in Taylor Hospital following a stroke she suffered Monday. Mrs. Scharer had been a patient in the hospital since Friday. A lifelong county resident, Mrs. Scharer had lived in Aldan for 18 years. She had worked as a secretary at the Railway Audit & Inspection Co., Philadelphia, for nearly 30 years. She was a member of the J.R. Miller Presbyterian Church, Upper Darby, and the Christian Businesswomen's Assn. Surviving are her husband, Adolph, at home; daughter, Rita at home; her mother, Mrs. Barbara Dickson of Collingdale; three sisters, Mrs. Louise Meyrick, of Wildwood Villas, N.J.; Mrs. Ruth Lincoln of Collingdale, and Mrs. Emma Kaiser of Springfield, and a brother Thomas Dickson of Collingdale. Funeral services will be Saturday, at 1 p.m. at the George C. Toppitzer Funeral Home, Garrett rd. and Lansdowne av., Drexel Hill. Viewing will be tomorrow night at the funeral home, with burial in Fernwood Cemetery. |

Obituary | Obituary:. Russell P. Lincoln, III, age 72, of N Cape May passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014 at his home. Russell was born April 8, 1941 in Darby, PA; formerly lived in Thorofare, NJ; and has been a Cape May area resident for 26 years. He was a 1959 graduate of Monsignor Bonner High School in Drexel Hill, PA. Russell was a mechanical radiologist for Universal Tech Testing Laboratories of Collingdale, PA and Philadelphia Electric Company for over 30 years. He served his country in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. Russell was a member of the Parish of St John Neumann and was in the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He enjoyed travel, boating, water skiing, and snow skiing. Russell is survived by his wife of 15 years: Rita Lincoln; his three brothers: John T (Helen) Lincoln of North Cape May, NJ; James P (Rebecca) Lincoln of Galloway, NJ; Robert (Judy) Lincoln of Egg Harbor Township, NJ; and his sister Geri Pietras of Cape May Point, NJ. Also surviving are his step daughters: Carol (Daniel) Taggart of Deptford, NJ & Doreen Gailey of Swarthmore, PA; 5 step grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Hazel (Childs) Lincoln. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the Parish of St John Neumann, St John of God RC Church, 680 Townbank Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St Mary's Cemetery, 1056 Seashore Rd, Cold Spring, NJ 08204. The family suggests donations in Russell's memory to St Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. | |
