Mrs. Mildred Merrill Nelson, 70, of Sky View Rd., passed away at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis Hospital. She was born Feb. 2, 1885, in Waterloo, the daughter of Louis and Nettie Garnsey Dewey. She was married to Adrian Merrill in Waterloo April 11, 1905. She lived all her life in Waterloo with the exception of 15 years spent in Chicago. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren and a charter member of Waterloo Moose Lodge.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Carmen Dostart, of Sky View Road, and Mrs. Maxine Orvis, of Chicago, Ill., two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Wood, of Clearfield, Utah, and Mrs. Florence Novak of New Jersey, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son.
Funeral services are set for Kearns-Dykeman Chapel at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. J. Perry Prather, pastor of the Church of the Brethren, will officiate. Interment will be in Fairview cemetery, Cedar Falls. |
