Born December 6, 1918 in Easton, PA, she was a daughter of the late Floyd and Annie Hartzell Diehl. Verna retired in 1983 from Binney & Smith where she was employed for 43 years. After retirement she volunteered at the Binney & Smith Credit Union and Crayola Factory. Verna was a 1936 graduate of Easton High School. She was an avid reader, enjoyed going out to dinner, and had a love of games and going to the theater. She was a member of New Creation United Church of Christ.

She is survived by three nieces, Darlene Henthorn, Roseanne Diehl Frankenberg and Susan Burd Hanna; two nephews, David Diehl and Brian Burd; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

She was predeceased her longtime companion, Earl Strahle; three brothers, Lloyd O., Paul F. and Carl V. Diehl, a sister, Ruth A. Burd; three nephews, Royal and Robert Moser, and James Burd; and a niece, Edna Picone.

Services will be held at 11am Wednesday in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 2101 Northampton St., Wilson Borough. Call Wednesday 10-11am in the funeral home. Burial will be in Easton Heights Cemetery. Offer online condolences at www.strunkfh.com. Memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity Lehigh Valley, 245 N. Graham St., Allentown, PA 18109.

Picone Sr., who was her high school sweetheart to whom she was married for 24 years until his death on July 18, 1973. She is survived by her children Michael W. Picone, Jr. and his wife Marlene, Susan Picone, Annemarie Picone and John J. Picone along with 4 grandchildren, Scott and John Durbin, Michael W. Picone, III Brianna Picone and 1 great grandchild, Harlee Durbin. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Darlene and Jim Henthorn. Private interment will be at Olivewood Cemetery in Riverside, California. A memorial celebration of Dee's life will be held at the home of her daughter Annemarie on Saturday, July 24th at 1:00 pm in Riverside.

Mrs. Emma Hineline, 74 years old, widow of Joel Hineline, died suddenly at 5:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wilson Heavener, 934 Berwick Street of heart trouble. She was stricken ten minutes before she died while seated in a chair.

Mrs. Hineline was a native of Williams Township and a daughter of the long deceased Thomas and Catharine Moser. She resided in Easton for the past six years.

In addition to the daughter with whom she resided she is survived by the following children: Mrs. Granville Richards of Morgan's Hill; Mrs. Harry Smock of Bethlehem; Mrs. Floyd Nolf of Webster, Mass; Thomas Hineline of Cedarville, Clyde Hineline of Phillipsburg; Clemens Hineline of Easton and Joel Hineline of Detroit Michigan. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Williams Township. The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 o'clock.

Hineline, on of the best known residents of Williams township, died suddenly Monday evening at his home, of paralysis of the heart. The deceased was within a few days of 71 years old. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. Granville Richards, Clemens Hineline and Joel F. Hineline, Jr., of Morgan Hill; Mrs. Floyd Nolf and Thomas Hineline, of Easton; Clyde Hineline, of Phillipsburg, and Mrs. Harry Smock and Mrs. Wilson Heavener, of south Bethlehem. Five children preceded him to the grave.

During the Civil war Mr. Hineline served as a member of Company F, One Hundred and Fifty-third Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers. He participated in the battle of Gettysburg, and carried since that time a bullet he received on the battlefield. The deceased was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Williams Township.
