FatherThomas Moser (b. 7 July 1838, d. 2 November 1873)
MotherLydia S. Sassaman (b. 15 March 1838, d. 13 June 1915)

Biography

Birth9 December 1870Forrest Sassaman Moser was born on 9 December 1870 in Easton, Northampton County, Pennsylvania.1
Death12 January 1916He died on 12 January 1916 in Easton, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, Cause of Death: Internal injuries received by being struck by train in Lehigh Valley. Probably fractured pelvis with hemorrhage. Also dislocated knee.

Address at death, 833 Milton Avenue, South Side.1
Newspaper Mention14 January 1916The 14 January 1916 edition of the Allentown Democrat, Allentown, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, reported L. V. Trainman Killed, Another Seriously Hurt

Joseph Leonard, of Pittston, who was employed as a trainman on the Lehigh Valley rialroad, was instantly killed at Jutland, N.J., Wednesday morning and Forrest Moser of South Easton is in the Easton Hospital, seriously injured. For at time it was thought that Moser would not survive, but later reports stated that his injuries are not expected to result fatally.

Leonard was a member of the crew of what is known as the "little milk." At Jutland the train was stopped and it is the duty of members of the crew to carry big cans filled with milk across the tracks. To perform this duty they have been accustomed to lay a plank on which they walk. It was while Leonard and Moser were thus at work that train No. 28 came along at great speed and crashed into the plank. Leonard was terribly mangled and Moser was struck by a heavy piece of timber that was hurled through the air as a result of the crash.

W. A. Finney, of Packerton, was conductor of the "little milk." Robert Lutz, of Easton was a member of the crew.
