He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, having attained the rank of Spc. 4. He was of the Christian faith. Kriel was an active member of American Legion Post 314, Lehighton, where he was a member of the Vietnam Last Man's Club, served as chairman of the House Committee, was treasurer of the Home Association, and was the Post historian. Surviving are two sons, Randy S., and his companion, Bonita Rotert, and her children, Avery and Riley, and Ryan S., both of Carroll, Iowa; a daughter Renee S. Kriel, and her companion, Kelly Battle, of Des Moines, Iowa; a sister Joan, wife of Al Hendershot of Pen Argyl; and two grandchildren, Justice and Alexia Jackson. John Huff, a well-known resident of South Easton, died at his home, 16 Orchard street, at 4:20 o'clock yesterday morning, of kidney trouble, in the 56th year of his age. Mr. Huff, who was an engineer on the Wabash railroad, running between Hannibal and St. Louis, MO, the past 15 years, came home sick about three weeks ago. During the Civil War, Mr. Huff served 9 months in the 174th Regt., Pa. Vol., and 1 year in the United States Navy. The deceased man is survived by his aged mother, Mrs. Sabina Huff, his widow, four daughters and a son. The children are: Mrs. Benjamin Garrecht, of New York; Mrs. Charles Genther, of Easton; Misses Sabina and Ella Huff and John Huff, Jr., of South Easton. A brother, William Huff, of South Easton, also survives. Miss Emma Hoyt is an adopted daughter. He was a member of Knights of Pythias at St. Louis, the Jr. O.U.A.M., at Hannibal, and Division No. 30, B. of L. E. of Phillipsburg.
