Memberships: He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Easton, where he was a former councilman and served on the property committee. He was a former member of the Sunny Seniors, Saucon Squares, AARP of Easton and Ambassador Club. Charles had been a Palmer Mall Walker and enjoyed the IR Breakfast Group.
Survivors: two daughters, Elsiann Pledger and her husband Charles, of Norman, OK and Cheryl Moyer and her husband Gregory, of Bethlehem Township, PA; and two grandchildren, Kevin C. Moyer, of Philadelphia and Allison E. Moyer, of Santa Monica, CA. A brother, Martin E., died earlier. Services: 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 602 W. Berwick St., Easton. Upon his honorable discharge from the military, Russell worked as a salesperson in the textile industry. He spent most of his life as the proprietor of A-1 Sewing. Russell was an active part of the Easton High School Class of 1956 Reunion Committee. He was also a member of the Lions Club in Willams Township. Russell is survived by his loving companion of 37 years, Kathleen Kelly; son, Thomas Christian of Williams Township; daughter, Debbie Christian and David Belzner of Nazareth, PA; sister, Judy Kilpatrick of Palmer Township, PA; and brother, Daniel Christian of Nashville, TN. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Maragulia and his brother, Lee Christian. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.).
