In the 1850 census, Gilbert Marshall is in Greenwich, with family, and is living next to Permelia Marshall, age 66, with Mary Ray, Permelia Ray, George Ray, Mary F. Ray, and John H Ray. Mr. Ray is not there, nor Mr. Marshall. A Permelia Mead, b. 21 Jan 1784, married a Stephen Marshall (b. about 1780), about 1805. He died 3 Dec. 1855. Pamelia was a dau. of Matthew Mead and Mary Bush, who had 13 ch. I don't know what if any connection there is here. But Stephen and Pamelia Marshall are mentioned a number of times in David Tilley's research notes, as buying and selling land from Selah Mead.2 |

The business was moved to the present location, directly opposite Siegel's in 1914. The late Mr. Hartlieb was president of the Germania Maennerchor for many years. The market is now run by his sons." A photo shows the store, with the sign "Choice Meats & Groceries, Louis J. Hartlieb" and the caption "Turn of the century businessmen and old friends pose in front of Hartlieb market, Willett Avenue and Rectory Street, left to right Edward Siegel, saloon keeper; Louis J.
